Earlier this week ILO worked together with the National Private Sector Organisation of Samoa, Samoa Chamber of Commerce to host a special workshop on strategic planning. The Samoa Chamber of Commerce is currently composing its Strategic Plan for 2016-2020, and invited its membership and Executive Council to participate.

ILO Senior Specialist for Employers’ Activities from Bangkok, Miaw Tiang Tang presented to the Chamber membership on ILO and their conventions. Tang commended Samoa Chamber for being an active member in the ILO and their role as an employer organisation and encouraged the Chamber to continue its responsibility to advance the collective interests of employers.

The Consultant drafting the Strategic Plan and conducting the review for the previous Strategic Plan, Mrs Vanessa Schuster presented her preliminary findings and encouraged all Chamber members to give feedback in setting the direction of the Chamber for the next four years.
