Samoa Chamber of Commerce

BOC Samoa is much more than just a supplier of Handigas – workplace and personal safety are also a big part of their business. Country Manager Andy McCallum made a presentation on “Getting Safer with BOC” to members of the Samoa Chamber of Commerce at the Chambers members’ meeting held at the SBEC conference room on Monday 20th July, 2015. BOC Samoa, who sponsored the members’ meeting, showcased a range of safety products such as fire extinguishers, smoke alarms and personal protection equipment. BOC Samoa goes above and beyond in their services to ensure businesses are safe by:

  • Providing safety information to businesses and communities
  • Encouraging events that promote good safety and work practices e.g. BOC-APTC National Welding Competition
  • Training staff on how to use safety gear, basic rescue and fire safety

The Chamber of Commerce also invited Solia Tanuvasa Iosefo Kalolo and Talatupu Lia of the Ministry for Revenue (Customs), to speak to Chamber members on the latest reforms they are implementing that will have a direct impact on businesses.

The Chamber of Commerce holds members’ meetings every month to provide its members, as well as the wider business community with updates on current events for the private sector, opportunities to raise issues and concerns as well as a chance to network and learn from a diverse range of guest presenters.
